Transport Information
The various activities of the Link Weekend and the transport between them are all provided at no expense to the Scholars and Peace Fellows that will be taking part. However, the transport to and from the Link Weekend is not included in this.
The content of this page is to assist Scholars, Peace Fellows and any Rotarians supporting them, with the transport arrangements to and from the Link Weekend's primary venue, the Clarendon Suites. For those who will be arriving by car, the Clarendon Suites does have a large car park available, so parking should not be a problem.
On Friday afternoon and Sunday afternoon, shuttle buses will be running between the Clarendon Suites, Birmingham New Street Rail Station and Birmingham Central Bus Station (formerly Digbeth Coach Station). If you are arriving by plane, the simplest option is to use the Monorail link from Birmingham International Airport to the nearby Birmingham International Rail Station, from which you can catch a train to Birmingham New Street (this is only a short journey of around 10 minutes).
To assist you in planning your travel from anywhere in the UK, we have included a direct link to the Transport Direct planning tool here. You simply need to enter the postcode of the location you are starting from and it will provide you with options to get from there to Birmingham New Street Rail Station.
You may also find the transport section of our Useful Links page to be helpful, as well as the Venues page, which includes a detailed map showing the location of the Clarendon Suites, together with the local transport points in the area.
To assist you in contacting others who may be able to travel with you, we have provided a Scholar List page that gives the basic details, including Rotary District, University and email address, of all the Scholars and Peace Fellows who have given permission for their details to be shared. This page is only available to those who have registered and are present on our list of Scholars and Peace Fellows and not to the general public.
Rotarian Hosts should also note the location of Sherborne Wharf, which is the drop off point for the Saturday afternoon activities during the weekend.
