Timetable
The weekend includes a mixture of home hosting, group activities and orientation. The timetable for the weekend is included here to help both Scholars and Rotarian hosts see how it all fits together. It should also help potential Rotarian hosts see what their responsibilities would be across the weekend.
Friday 26th September
- 12:00 Midday
Scholars begin to arrive at :
- Birmingham New Street Railway Station
- Birmingham Central Coach Station
Rotarian Stewards will direct Scholars to shuttle buses for transfer to The Clarendon Suites.
- Midday until 21:00
Registration at The Clarendon Suites.
All Scholars must be registered before allocation to a Rotarian host family for the weekend. Rotarian hosts will collect Scholars.
Tea and Coffee will be available for Scholars and Rotarian hosts.
- Evening
Scholars will have evening meal with their Rotarian hosts.
Saturday 27th September
- Morning
Scholars enjoy home hospitality and lunch with their Rotarian hosts.
- 14:00
Scholars to be at Sherborne Wharf, Sherborne Street, Birmingham - transported by their Rotarian hosts.
Scholars will be escorted on a canal boat tour of the centre of Birmingham.
- 15:30
Dock at Brindley Place and walk to the Council House.
- 16:00
Mock City Council Meeting with the Lord Mayor of Birmingham.
- 17:30
Buses will take Scholars to The Clarendon Suites.
Tea, coffee and pastries will be served on arrival.
Facilities will be made available for Scholars to wash and to change clothing if they so wish.
- 19:30
Barn Dance and Supper at The Clarendon Suites.
Rotarians and guests who have purchased tickets will join the Scholars.
- 23:00
Scholars to be collected by Rotarian Hosts.
Sunday 28th September
- 09:00
Rotarian hosts to deliver their Scholars, with luggage and a packed lunch, to The Clarendon Suites.
Facilities will be available for Scholars to leave their luggage in a secure area while the Briefing Meeting takes place.

Welcome by Past District Governor David Robinson, Chairman of the Organising Committee.
Welcome by Past RIBI President Norman Proctor, the Representative of the President of RIBI.
Welcome by the District Governor 1060 Peter Smith.
Welcome by Bruce Gow, Member of the RIBI Foundation Committee, the Representative of the Chairman of the RIBI Foundation Committee.
Rotaract Presentation by the Chairman of RGBI, Keith Pickles.
Presentation on the Scholars & Counsellors Conference in London (24th-25th January 2009) by Alan Solomons
